My practice is grounded on the idea that our understanding of reality is breaking and fragmenting. There is an oversaturation of information and it is constantly shifting the way in which we perceive, navigate and materialize in the world.
Information is digitized and abundant, creating conditions in which reality can be created and manipulated at a mass scale. This results in a fragmented truth, a distortion blurring the lines of what is real and what isn’t.
The visual language is built in layers and uses distortion, fragmentation and repetition as a way to look at the world differently.
I paint because I love, I love my family, I love people and the world. I paint my world as I see it to materialize my truth and love; to create something real in a world where real can lose meaning.
Mi práctica se fundamenta en la idea de que nuestra comprensión de la realidad se está rompiendo y fragmentando. Existe una sobresaturación de información que transforma constantemente la manera en que percibimos, navegamos y nos materializamos en el mundo.
La información es digitalizada y abundante, creando condiciones en las que la realidad puede ser creada y manipulada a gran escala. Esto resulta en una verdad fragmentada, una distorsión que difumina los límites entre lo que es real y lo que no lo es.
El lenguaje visual se construye en capas y utiliza la distorsión, la fragmentación y la repetición como una forma de observar el mundo de otra manera.

Eduardo Rodríguez-Jaime is a Mexican-American painter currently based in Indiana, with work focusing on traditional subjects such as portraiture and landscape. Through a process of erasing, scraping, and painting over multiple layers of paint, they document their life and the distortion of time.
Influenced by their experience as a child of immigrants, their work reflects on sociopolitical events and ideas of distortion, transformation, and presence.
They graduated with their BFA in Painting from Indiana University. They are a recipient of the Bloomington Artist Grant, and participated in the 2025 Chautauqua Visual Arts Residency, where they curated their first show with their cohort, Day and Night at Chautauqua. They are currently awaiting their second residency at Joshua Tree for its Artist in Residence program.
Eduardo Rodríguez-Jaime es un pintor méxico-americano radicado actualmente en Indiana, cuya obra se centra en temas tradicionales como el retrato y el paisaje. A través de un proceso de borrado, raspado y superposición de múltiples capas de pintura, documenta su vida y la distorsión del tiempo.
Influenciado por su experiencia como hijo de inmigrantes, su trabajo reflexiona sobre eventos sociopolíticos y las ideas de distorsión, transformación y presencia.
Se graduó con un BFA en Pintura de Indiana University. Recibió la Beca de Artistas de Bloomington (Bloomington Artist Grant) y participó en la Residencia de Artes Visuales de Chautauqua 2025, donde curó su primera exposición junto a su cohorte, Day and Night at Chautauqua. Actualmente espera su segunda residencia en Joshua Tree, para su programa de Artista en Residencia.
